A brief review on correctness verification of outsourced query

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

With the development and maturity of cloud computing technology, more and more organizations choose to store data in the cloud environment. Authorized users can make a variety of queries. In the data service outsourcing model, the data is not stored in the server directly managed by the data owner, and thus many security issues arise, such as data privacy preservation, user access control and query result correctness verification, etc. In order to prevent the service provider to be slack in work and the destruction of data or results, query result correctness verification means that the user utilize certain technology to test if the query result returned by the service provider is correct. This paper analyzes and summarizes the correctness verification methods of query results in the research of data service outsourcing. The advantages and defects of the existing correctness verification schemes are given. Finally, the future research directions of the security of data service outsourcing are presented.
