Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To explor the correlation and clinical significance between the expression of PIK3CA and multidrug resistance gene products LRP, GST-π and Topo II in colorectal carcinoma tissues. METHODS: The expressions of PIK3CA, LRP, GST-π and Topo II in 108 patients with colorectal carcinoma were detected by Max Vision™ immunohistochemical technique. The relationship of PIK3CA and drug resistance in colorectal cancer was analyzed. RESULTS: 1) The PIK3CA expression was correlated with the degree of tumor differentiation, TNM stage and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05); 2) The PIK3CA expression was correlated with GST-π and Topo II. CONCLUSION: The PIK3CA expression is correlated with MDR, therefore, detecting the expressions of PIK3CA has the important significance with regard to choosing the individual chemotherapy and prediction of prognosis.
