Abstract
The effects of quaternary ammonium salt cetyl pyridine bromide (CPB) on vase cut flowers of Dianthus caryophyllus L. in summer were observed. The results showed that CPB inhibited the growth of microorganism in stem base. The vase life of cut carnation was prolonged, flower diameter was raised, water maintained well and the fresh weight was increased obviously. The results indicated that CPB had the beneficial effect on vase cut flowers of carnations.
